1. The Commission currently consists of 3 members but this number may be increased to up to 10. Ad hoc appointments can be made by the Board - the commission may nominate additional members via  the Board. The Commission should appoint a Convenor who would be the person who also liaises with the Board.

2. The Convenor of the Coaching Commission should liaise with the Directors of the Disciplines and with our COO, and while keeping the President copied.

3. The main responsibilities of the Coaching Commission are as follows:

3.1 generally to ensure that all our cyclists receive the coaching they should have;

3.2 create a pool of Coaches bearing in mind our transformation requirements as per our Vision and Mission Statement;

3.3 ensure on-going education/training for our Coaches so that we can get as many level 3 Coaches as possible;

3.4 consider whether we should have National Coaches, and how this would work through the Provinces;

3.5 identify appropriate high performance centres to work with - when applicable;

3.6 enter into dialogue with the Selectors Commission and high performance Coaches;

3.7 create squads for future targeted events in dialogue with Road and Track Commissions;

3.8 appoint talent scouts in the Provinces to obtain fresh talent for coaching;

3.9 set up Coaching Clinics;

3.10 set up Coaching Programmes for National Squads and other Elite cyclists.
