Introduction

Welcome to the South African Mountain Biking Commission (SA-MTB), with the implementation of licensing, sanctioning and development, we have decided to try and make your approach to MTB as easy as possible. These aspects, amongst others, will be discussed in this booklet to try and encourage riders and ease the burden on riders and fears of organisers. The first half the book pertains to organisers and the second part for the particpants.

The MTB Commission consists of Johann Wykerd, Richard Durrant, and a 3rd Transformation & Development commissioner (to be appointed)

VISION:

To develop and promote mountain biking in an organised and professional manner.

MISSION:

We aim to uplift the profile of mountain biking in South Africa through the sanctioning of events, licensing of riders and adopting a professional approach, with open and clear communication to all stakeholders.

SA-MTB is the division of Cycling South Africa that is directly responsible for mountain biking in South Africa.

SA-MTB, together with Road and Track, BMX and Recreational Cycling, form Cycling South Africa (CSA).
